When I installed my water separator I had to run about 5 feet of extra line. I was told I needed to do a vacuum test. I was also told NOT to do this in a test tank, I have to do it while running down the lake. First of all do I really need to do this test? I can tell you that the boat doesn't have an alarm for excessive vacuum. Also if I do need to do it, why can't I do it in a test tank? I understand not to do it on muffs, but I figured a test tank would be ok.
