Vacuum Hose missing?

I recently purchased a stunning 1999 Four Winns Horizon 180 with a 4.3 Volvo (OMC) Penta in it. It ran great the first two times out but has since decided it wont start. I am putting a new battery it in since the one in it is older and of poor quality and today while putting new plugs in it I noticed what I assume is a vacuum tube missing from the valve cover, yet I cannot for the life of me find the other end of this. Any ideas?

that is a vapor tube that runs to the air cleaner under the vanity cover.

Thats got it, thank you! Funny as soon as you said that it clicked. I wont tell you how long I stood staring at the engine....
