I rented a cabin on lake Wallenpaupack in June of this year and I was wondering if anyone has been there before, if so how was the fishing, and what all is there to do around the greentown pa area? thanks

Only been there once but I'm only 2.5 hrs away from it. It was a nice lake but I hear it gets really crowded on the weekends. Enjoy your trip!

i've been there quite a few times. It's a big lake. It's gets busy on the weekends during the day and because it's relatively narrow, it gets really rough. Maybe too rough for your 17' er. Depends on how hardy you are. After dusk it really calms down, mostly due to much less boat traffic. The water doesn't get much over 70 degrees and the air temps are about 10 degrees cooler than the Lehigh Valley area. The fishing is about what you would expect from a man-made resevoir. Lot's of panfish, bass,catfish...etc. Can't catch 'em during the day, but nighttime is a whole different story. Daytime is pretty much go find a protected cove to anchor and swim and have lunch.

This is what it looks like in the summer time

But if you are there in early June it may not be as bad as it gets durning peak summer time, it is really narrow more like a large river than a lake-5,700 acres, 13 ? miles long with 52 miles of shore line.

I was there once last year and yes it was crowded on sunday, but nothing like the pic in the link above. You are only 30 minutes from Scranton so there should be plenty to do off the water as well. Can't help with the fishing. Have fun.

Yeah, that pic looks like it's just a shot of one of the coves where people anchor and swim...there are hudreds of coves like that. The lake gets busy, sure, but there is still plenty of room for boating. The only issue I've found is with ti being long and narrow, the wave don't really have room to dissipate and it can get plenty rough during the day.
