V6 lower unit pinion nut

I am trying to disasemble my 200hp johnson lower unit. the driveshaft is seized so i cannot put a wrench on the pinion nut and turn the driveshaft in order to loosen the pinion nut. does anyone have any suggestions?

Split the nut using a long sharp chisel.

on my merc V6, I was able to get a socket on the pinion nut and use an extension bar over the ratchet handle. Clamped driveshaft in vice and got it loose that way. It was tight spacewise, but worked. BTW, the socket was from an old 1/2" drive set and seemed a bit stubby.
