Is there an easy way to tell if an OMC looper power head is 2.0L cf 1.8L?

The motor in question is about 1992. I was told that a 2.0L block had been fitted recently.

What would the differnce in Bore size be?

Do they use the same crank and conrods?

The powerheads are identical except for the pistons, rings, heads and head gaskets.

On each of the head gaskets there is a tab sticking up at the top. Is that tab straight across or is there a "U" shaped cut out in the tab?

the 2.0L block was introduced in 1988. The 2.0L also uses a "butterfly" shaped powerpack that covered the top aft of the block.

The '86 and '87 1.8L blocks used a single rectangular power pack on the port aft top of the block. It measured about 5 X 3" X 1" thick.

Head gaskets have a U-shaped cut out on the tab.

What should the cyl bore diameter be for 2.0L vs 1.8L ?

You have a 2.0 liter block. The standard bore is 3.685".

I have come across a cheap 2.0L block. It has 2 liners removed.

Do OMC supply replacement liners, or do I have to get my local machine shop to make them up?

Have you got part numbers for liners?

Your (marine) machine shop will stock them from either LA Sleeve Co or Advanced Sleeve Co.
