V shaped water spray

I have a 14' wooden skiff. The motor is a 9.9 yammy. The cav. plate is even with the wooden keel whichs really a 1x1 nailed to the bottom of the boat. The motor sends a v shaped spray right off the motor on the transom and sometimes over the transom. Can anyone help me stop this? Thanks!

Take a wood plane to the keel starting a couple of feet back from the transom and shave the keel so it is flush with the transom.

Have you tried to raise the engine up?.. <br /><br />Take a lenght of 1x2" lumber or something similar and put it on top of the transom to raise the engine up a bit...

I believe SoLittle has it. One of the best wooden skiffs in the country is built here and the keels are always tapered down at the stern until they're flush with the transom.
