From help I have recieved on this site I have solved the issue of water intrusion into the lower port cylinder on my 1995 Ocean Pro. I replaced the power head base gasket and got lucky that neither the power head or exhaust housing were very corroded. My concern now is that the cylinder that suffered from water intrusion has scoring above and below the exhaust port and looking from the bottom of the power head I could see that the piston is scuffed in this location also. I assume it is damaged in this location from water entering the exhaust port and washing lube oil away. It is all together now and runs fine. The cylinder with the damage has 120 psi with 125 in the other three. Given that the damaged cylinder only shows damage around the exhaust port (approx. 25% of the cylinder)do you think it will hurt it further to run it as is? I fear that it may cause further damage if I run it but if I have to rebuild to fix this issue my boating season will be over. Any advice is appreciated.
