I have the pump in the link. I'm wondering if it would work to suck the oil out the motor.
The dipstick rusted so using the screw top way won't work and I need to send a tube down the dipstick into the oil pan.

I was going to order a 12 volt oil extractor which is cheap enough but I already have this. I'd have to dump the reservoir a few times but that's ok. Some of the reviews say the 12v pumps take forever and burn out.

Think it would work with the thicker oil?

I'll warm the engine first

I've used one of those to suck differential fluid out of my truck, but never for motor oil. It was not horribly speedy, and I only needed to extract a bit less than two quarts.

For a boat engine, between the small capacity of the reservoir on the extractor, and the distance the oil would have to be lifted (from the oil pan up to the extractor), I think that might be pretty slow going.

I bought a small, $25 wet/dry vac from WallyWorld and I jerry-rigged a hose end onto it with duct tape. It doesn't look very impressive, but for the one time per year I need to extract oil, it works great. In fact, it works better and faster than the expensive Moeller extractor I had before it; that thing was always falling apart.

I ended up getting a MityVac 7L knockoff. Seems a lot quicker and most likely easier
