Hey Guys, It's the rookie again. I need to know if I can use the flush connection that comes on my 2005 yammy 90hp instead of the normal "rabbit ears" flushing kit. Can I just use the connection on the motor (the female fitting that recieves the water hose). Or do I HAVE to use the rabbit ear type flushing kit. Thanks, Ray

Most flush fittings bypass the water pump, Ray. They are intended for use with the engine off. Start the engine and your impeller is running dry, which will ruin it in short order.

Use the muffs. They use the water pump.

Good luck. :)

burned up pumps and powerhead damage caused by them are not covered by any warrenty. do as you wish but my advice is to buy a set of flush muffs
JB is correct on the flush attachment on your yamaha.

Go to that section of the owner's manual and post what it says about using the flusher fitting.

I also have a DF90. When starting, use the muffs. Fitting is only used when motor is off. Take Seahorse's advice, read the manual again and again. I think I have mine memorized.
