Can anyone tell me where I can find a used CHEAP trailer or USED rollers for my 16' fiberglass trihull boat? I have looked on ebay but have been unsuccessful. My boat is old and only worth about $200 (no joke). I really don't want to spend more that what the boat is worth. But I do need a trailer that will load and unload my boat easier. It weighs about 1500 lbs. and the rollers on my trailer are of no help (or very little). It feels like I am cranking up the weight of the boat for the most part.
Thanks!!!

why not go to to bunks, and back in a little deeper. you could also go to an lower gear ratio, winch.

Re: used CHEAP trailer or used rollers

I currently back my Blazer up with the water half way up my back bumper. I have about 2 inches before it would start to run in the back door of the vehicle.
The water level the past few years here have fallen a few feet. It use to be a little easier to load but now it's on the edge of rediculous.
I THINK I have finally made the decision to buy some type of rollers and make my own brackets and mount them. I want to keep it cheap and that seems to be the only thing I will be able to do.
So if anyone knows where I can find some USED or aftermarket rollers (not sure what kind of roller I am going to use yet) that are CHEAP...please let me know. Thank you

Bunks made out of trex decking with no carpet and you can winch that sucker up no problems. I can push and pull the hull of my 17 ft glastron trihull with one hand without the cap on it currently. I winched it off the ground with the tilt mechanism on the trailer easily enough as a complete boat ( minus motor ).

Bunks are a cheap alternative. Personally I prefer the roller trailers but if it was a question of cost I would certainly "bunk it"

Used trailers are pretty easy to find, even here where they seem to rust away fairly quickly. I just picked up a mint clean 2400lb GVW full roller Load Rite for $300. It needed nothing at all other than maybe a new winch cable. Good tires, good rollers, etc. I've gotten several this year for a song. There's an abundance of free boats out there as well with perfectly good trailers. Pick up a freebie, dump the boat and your set.

I got most of my trailers that way, I've actually gotten my best trailers that way. (I found a 2005 Load Rite 3500lb single axle full roller last fall for free under a junk boat, $35 fee at the dump to rid myself of the rotten mess they called a boat was all I had in it).

Going out and trying to buy a ready to use trailer however will bring price quotes well over $500 up to $1500 for a good used roller. (I sold one of my old roller trailers on CL last month for $1200, and that one was over 30 years old).

A set of roller bunks may also be an option for a trihull, I have one here on a trailer with two 60" roller bunks on each side, and a set of keel rollers down the center. It works well on a Starcraft trihull even at low tide if I tilt the trailer.
