used boat windshield

I'm stripping my 16.5' 73 SeaSwirl before taking it to the graveyard (dump) and wondering if I should take off the windshield. It's in pretty good shape outside of the center panel being replaced with plexi-glass. I wouldn't mind making a few $ while helping someone out, but don't want to be tripping over the thing for the next year.

So what do you think, forget about it or hang on to it for a while and see if someone can use it?

Throw it on ebay. I am sure someone will pick it up.

Absolutely try to sell it. I got the new windshield for mine off eBay and it ended up fitting perfectly and really improving the look of my boat. I was certainly glad someone decided not to junk it!!!

out the boat out front with a sign free boat, won't be there long, save the land fill fee.

Re: used boat windshield

Thanks!, the windshield is coming off now, hopefully someone buys it...

I was thinking of selling the boat&trailer for $100 on craigslist just to get rid of it. But,,, I don't want to get stuck with someone dumping the hull and it coming back on me as the last registered owner. I can just envision getting a $500 clean-up bill from the city 2 months after the boat is gone  Going to get rid of the hull and recoup the $100 disposal fee by selling the trailer.

I was actually wondering how long it would take to hack the hull up in bite size chunks and throw it away a few pieces at a time :D probably not worth the effort to chop it up and the expense of all those sawzall blades,,, or the pain and suffering incurred by cutting on fiberglass all day.

What if you got them to sign a paper saying it's their's.

Or sold it for $25

Beats the landfill

Re: used boat windshield

The only way I would sell it is if I went down to the F&G office and had the title transferred as soon as I sold it,,, but that headache plus dealing with lookie lews for 2 weeks isn't worth the $100 bux to me.

I did offered it to my neighbor for $1 as a tow behind for his jet-ski's though :D

Hmmmm, maybe the neighbor and I should McGyver it into a JetSki shuttle craft...
