Use straps to hold up outdrive? Volvo 275a

I am very unfamiliar with volvo penta outdrives. I have a 275a that had a broken tilt assembly when I purchased it. I just replace the tilt assembly and I am concerned about the stress placed on it when transporting the boat. Will the assembly hold the outdrive up by itself or should I use a strap as a secondary means just to protect the tilt assembly when transporting the boat?

Those of you who are familiar with these outdrives know the cost of replacing this assembly and understand why I am asking this question.

Thanks

the tilt assembly SHOULD hold the drive up more than fine. But if you FEEL the tilt still has issues, then by all means, why WOULDN'T you use a strap :D

I think you could use a transom saver "stiff leg" for trailering, like for outboards. When I had an outboard I used one, I just let the motor down into that cradle and the motor bracketing did not have to hold any weight at all. It was easy enough to take off the trailer end when ready to launch, pretty simple deal.

Yup, transom saver is what I would do as well.
