I have a Mercury 60/40 Jet mounted on a 16 ft. Lowe Jon, all aluminum. Should I be using a transom saver? My dealer told me that the only reason to use a transom saver is to keep your prop up and out of harms way when trailering. I have no prop, so do I need one? I realize that it is called a "transom saver" for a reason but do I really need to protect my transom? The dealer says that there is less stress on the transom with the motor down and locked, but prop guys can't do this so they use a transom saver.

Whadda ya think guys??

Thanks,

Joe
