Hi I didn't want to side track phatmanmike's post but wanted to know a little more about USAA.

Matt you said
Well my wife is a 03 in the Navy Reserves so I thought I'd look into it.
The first prompt I got asked:

Who's Eligible
Active duty, National Guard and Reserve enlisted personnel, officers and officer candidates, and their dependents are eligible for membership in USAA. Do you want to find out if you are eligible?

So I clicked on next! To find out if we were eligible.

The next prompt:

Are you or have you been in the U.S. armed forces or are you currently enrolled in a commissioning program?

Well it asked have you been is the US armed forces so I clicked yes (71-85 Army SFC)

At this point I'm thinking why worry about wifes info if I can use my own.

Next question was
If yes, are you or have you been:
enlisted
officer
in a commissioning program
So I clicked Enlisted and followed the prompt until it got into the exact details which I don't have here like exactly when was I drafted, went to basic and exact date I left. I have that info DD Form 214 in storage.

SO I closed the window and decieded to ask you guys three questions.

1: Has USAA changed it's membership program since you joined?

2: Would it be better to just use my wifes information? Any rate differences?

3: Does USAA offer Replacement cost insurance? I have a custom made boat that at todays prices would cost me 22,000 to replace, and the factory will indorce me that it's in perfect condition.

Thanks guys

Linki pay very little through usaa, but membership is limited to military officers.
