Recently i have had a very eye opening experience with ups. It is in regards to there shipping policy's. When you send a package it is advisable to have your local ups store pack it and insure it. If you do not do this and the package takes damage you will NOT recieve your ins preium.....the claim Will be handled as improper packing....End of line.

I wont go into to much detail but its buyer beware...really buyer beware.

UPS has setup a third party ins company scenario that is truly a animal to fight...laughs small claims court is a joke in this matter

Be aware.

Re: UPS Shipping a word to the wize

I used to work in an office (for a small cargo airline sub-contractor) at a UPS shipping facility at a major airport and after seeing what goes on in there, I will never ship anything via UPS that isn't at least triple boxed and foamed in place. While I'm sure some of the same antics happen at any shipper, I actually witnessed the intentional abuse that many of the packages received at UPS. It didn't look like the supervisors cared one way or the other when it was brought to their attention either.

I occasionally ship personal items at an actual UPS terminal. I find that my packages (not mail/document ) items are actually opened for inspection by UPS shipping clerks to verify NO hazerdous items inside. They then reseal my package and away it goes. I wonder if that opened and resealed package would be a problem getting the stated value should it be "lost."
