I ordered something off iboats and on ups it showed the order out for delivery. I checked again cause nothing came yet and I got this on the tracking:

THE RECEIVER REFUSED, THE PACKAGE APPEARED TO BE DAMAGED. UPS WILL NOTIFY THE SENDER WITH THE DETAILS

I never saw the ups guy and the gf who was home didn't see anyone. I wonder if ups broke my skeg; I didn't even have it on the boat yet. There was also a bottle of 303. I'll try to contact iboats.

The package was damaged in shipping and they are returning the product to supplier. your shipping might be delayed for a few days. Just one of those things that happen. At least they didnt try to push the damaged package to you.

I was negligent, since I ordered a skeg. :p I wonder if ups will give me free shipping for the delay. Would have rather had the 303 today, since the weather is unusually nice for this time of year.

Got off the phone iboats, was frankly surprised to talk to a human as well as some from the US. The guy said the customer service department is closed, duno what ups will say, but I did here there was a pileup on the highway today, who knows.

IMHO this is what separate the best stores from the rest; anyone can by in bulk and resell online, best judge is when a problem occurs to see how a person or company overcomes.

Yep and UPS will tell iboats or actually whoever the affiliated retailer iboats is hooked up with that it was not packaged properly.
Their loss.

Contacted UPS, after having with there "fun" automated system, I finally was able to speak to a real human. They said the box was completely soaked and the box was ruined. They found it odd that I didn't send it back, but I would have anyway. It looks like the 303 busted all over the box =\

Re: UPS and iboats

im a 21 yr union veteran of UPS in the package delivery operations. if a package appears to the driver as damaged he records it into his electronic clipboard as refused by customer. most times the customer never sees it. then the customer tracks it online and freaks out that they never refused it. its a pain in the *** to deal with but the reason they do it this way is to reduce claims. if its recorded in the clipboard as "damaged" UPS automatically pays the claim. drivers are instructed by management NEVER to record packages as damaged. surprisingly we pay very little in claims yet break a lot of merchandise. its a shame. besides drivers, there's not many inside operation full time career union guys left. all young low paid partimers who have no clue what is is to be a Teamster and take no pride in there job. ugh, 4 yrs left and im heading someplace warm and wet.

I will give iboats a call today to see if they can send me out something. I really don't want to wait for the package to go back and all this red tape before I can get it again.

Now this is even odder, I checked the UPS website and they sent the package to Buffalo, then back to my town and it is out for delivery again 0_0. I told them might as well send it back to iboats since, I need the 303 more than a skeg that I can't use till next year.

The iboats customer service said they are contacting ups and will call me back.

Ditto. They even took back a prop after I acknowledged I had run it. It was still in new condition, but they had every right to refuse as per their clearly stated conditions for accepting returned props.

Re: UPS and iboats

A couple hours ago I called iboats and they said they would have to wait till they get this package back for they could send me a new one. They gave me the option of purchasing a new order and credit my money back when they get the old order back.

I just checked the UPS site and they delivered the package. I called my g/f and she just got home and found an envelope that was really thin (like a small book), I am guessing it is just the skeg. Do they ship two different items in different packaging w/ the same tracking number?

Thanks,

It's possible i.e. "package 1 of 2"

From another ex UPSr Its prob just a repack from ups They took out the skeg and sent it to you and returned the damaged contents to I boats. If you had and stated you wanted part of the shipment they would try to comp lie
