I have a 93 yammie 200 hp and can get a deal on a 96 250hp powerhead as mine snapped a crank a while ago. Will the 250 drop in and would I have to change the carbs??
hello<br /> unfortunately the swap wont work. about all that would interchange is the paint color. one is a 2.6L the other is a 3.1.sometimes there just aint no easy way out. good luck and keep us posted.
Mucho gracias RB. I fugured it was to good to be true. Do you know if a 225 would work. I'm not interested in upping the hp as that will only get me maybe a knot or 2 and burn more fuel but if I can sve a couple grand it's worth it to me.
some of the 225's in the 95-96 range were 2.6 and some were 3.l. you need a 90 degree 2.6 block most from 89-95 will interchange<br /> good luck and keep posting I may have a 91 225 up for grabs soon
Let me know when ya decide to turn the 225 loose. I was going to get a rebuild through Iboats but I decided to wait till spring as I wouldn't use it till then and it would waist 6 months on the warranty. I can be reached at maszwec@yahoo.com
