I have an older mercruiser sterndrive. The seal behind the universal joint is leaking and I want to <br />replace it. Unfortunately I do not have access to the mercury tool that is used to remove the <br />large castle nut. Is there a way, other than using the specific tool to remove the nut?<br /><br />Also, will I have to replace the universal joint. It seems to be in good condition but I was told that the<br />shaft often gets grooved and the new seal will not hold.<br /><br />Thanks for the help in advance.<br /><br />Jessie
