Motor in signature. I pressed out the seal and bearing from the upper driveshaft bearing carrier today. I have the replacements parts and my goal was to press the replacements back in. However, I noticed that the top part of the bore where the seal goes has a few nicks. It may be okay to reuse the carrier if I use a bit of sealer, but I'd rather replace if possible.

I looked around online and it seems that I can only get the assembly which consists of the carrier, the bearing and the seal. As I said, I already have the seal and bearing. I would really like to get a hold of a carrier that is not damaged.

I also had a similar problem with the gearcase head (aka prop shaft bearing carrier) a few weeks ago. I called most of the salvage yards listed here in the forums and asked for just the carrier. Everybody wanted to sell me a new (not used) assembly which I didn't need. A couple of people actually got an attitude when I told them that I was not interested in a new assembly. One guy even hung up on me. Needless to say, they'll never see a penny of my money.

Anyway, I'm not going to call those guys again for this carrier. I already know what their answers will be.

Does anybody have a carrier that they would like to sell? New or used as long as the bearing bore and the seal bore are in good shape. I have part numbers if needed. Thanks.
