I installed 581 HD DI last year... how you gonna run it? through transom or up and over?. the transducer connector head is 5/8 dia.. tell u how I installed mine, fish finder that was on boat had maybe 1/4 drill hole for wire, previous owner spliced.. I used a 5/8 drill bit and opened it up, put 581 HD transducer head through,, then bought a 5/8 dowel rod, cut that to about 3 inch piece, used a jewelers saw to cut notch for wire so it sat nicely and did not pinch.. popped plug in hole, foamed it, let it dry, packed it, then siliconed it,, clam shell outside and siliconed it again, inside and out,, works perfectly...........
