Upgrade Volvo 5.0 2V to 4V???

I need more power out of my 2007 Larson 186 Senza. She's got a Volvo SX drive and about 25 hours on the package (5.0GL 220HP). I'm going to replace the anemic 2barrel Holley with a Marine 600 Holley 4 barrel. the intake is already designed for the 4 barrel and everything will hook up the same except for a slight throttle linkage adjustment as the carb linkage will be about 1" farther forward without the 4V-2V adapter. All things considered (I cant find ANY CFM Data on the 2V carb) the engine should be carbed just about right for 4800 RPM WOT with the 600 CFM. Has anyone done this? Does anyone know the CFM Rating of the stock 2V? and last but most important, what kind of power increase can I expect? I also see the 5.7 engine has different heads than the 5.0 any ideas on that? I suspect the 5.7 has larger chamers but also larger valves.

I can deal with 20 HP! It just feels like its starving for fuel above say ~3200 RPM

CFM ratings on carburetors are not absolute, it's only what the carb will flow for a given vacuum. At WOT, your engine is probably producing less vacuum than the vacuum used to determine the CFM of the carb, so it's really not flowing at full capacity. If the vacumm reading is high enough to pull the full CFM at WOT, odsare good you need a bigger carb to get the full potental from the engine.

My 17' 4Winns had a 5.7-WOW, she was fast and LOUD (I put thru hulls on it)
The 5.0 with a 4V will have to do till I put a supercharger on it! Good news for me, while inspecting the bracketry yesterday, its all set up for it, even bracketry is lableled 2V and 4V.

HI, I've got the same Volvo SX with the anemic 2V -- and I have several questions for you. Have you completed the upgrade ? Is there a noticeable power difference and how difficult was this upgrade ? Was it a simple bolt on ? I *thought* an intake manifold change was also required - is this the case ? Where did you obtain the Holley Marine 600 4V carb and were you satisfied with that purchase ? What about a prop change ? Did you change the prop at the same time ? Any help and further information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
