Updating throttle control

Can anyone help me with a little information I have a 1975 Evinrude 85 hp model 85593E I’ve updated my throttle control with the 5006180 I have to switch casing guides and I can’t find the right ones needed any recommendations

I thought you have to replace the cables with post- 1979 cables

I was told that new cable still doesn’t have the cable ends you get just the new cable I might be wrong but that’s what I was told

Pre-'79 cables came without ends. Post- '79 cables come complete, ready to snap-in '79-up controls.

That part # means nothing to me.-----You bought a control box online ?----From a known source.----Factory control ?-----Find a good dealer for help.----Or post picture of your control box and cables.

Had a fellow drive 3-1/2 hrs one way to pick up a $5 part for a 1975 control box.----Bought 2 of them-----He said ' you would not believe how many places I called to find this [part "---He had 2 new cables for the control already.------I did not have the heart to tell him he could have bought a complete / newer / better control box for less beer tokens.-----Sad that dealers did not help.
