Hi Guys

Thanks for all the info you all posted about my 1989 70HP Johnson.
I took her to the shop last friday. I went in and told them everything that lead up to the alarm going off.

They told me about the pisser hole update, to move the pisser hole on the block, they did that. Mechanic said that when it was lower, could have air in there.

I replaced my temp sensor. And the thermostat. There was also a update with the stat spring. Replaced the water pump and all seals.

While they had the lower unit off, I had them reseal the lower unit.He told me I had alot of fishing line wrapped around prop shaft. I had that all resealed.

We ran her and no alarm, I am hoping that this did the trick. He said the alarm in my VRO oil tank can be sensitive and throw a alarm. But he did also show me on the side of the block where some connectors were all together and it was very loose and he said that loose connection on them could give a alarm

I hope this does the trick for me, As this is my first boat, And hoping it will last a few years

Thanks for all your input.

Brian
Penna

Sounds like you have a good dealer to show you all of that stuff rather than just fix one thing and wait for you to bring it back for more money.

Hey Brian,

It sounds like you found yourself a "knowledgeable" dealer like we talked about!

Congratulations.
