Up or Down

Being new to the i/o scene I have many questions. One being is it best to leave the outdrive up or down when the boat is docked for <br />any extended period of time. I have been told bu questionable sources that botn are best for different reasons. Clarification would be of much<br />help. Thanks

Down is best. It relaxes the bellows. When the drive unit is up the rubber boots/bellows are strecthed out of there normal shape. They will last longer if you leave the drive unit down, but it is not a big deal. You should replace them every four years anyway.
