up or down?

Which is the best way to leave an outdrive,<br />up or down. The boat is docked in a salt water<br />marina.

Leave it in the down position. This is the natural position for the bellows whether it's in the water or on a trailer. Raising it in the water will not get the lower unit above the waterline anyways.
