Actually the blue lights do not affect your eyes light sensitivity as bad as the green or white. Red would be the second choice.

Re: Underwater lights

3 things to consider when installing underwater lights:

1) Type of water you're boating in. It isn't in your profile, but if you have clear water, they look great. If the water is murky, they are useless. I have underwater lights and in the iced tea I boat in, they are almost non existant. In the clear ocean water, they look amazing.

2) Intensity - different brands have different power supply needs (for lack of the proper term) and although very bright on land, the illuminosity under water varies greatly.

3) Price - as with most things, you get what you pay for. Underwater LEDs can go from $29 - $700. If you buy a $50 light, you'll get a $50 light. If you buy a $200 light, you'll get a better, btighter lamp set in glass (not plastic) that will shine brighter and longer. The plastic lenses scratch and are prone to cracking (then they die).

Do your homework and buy the best you can reasonably afford. Install according to specs. If they die soon, oh well, it was only $50.
