Who here has installed these, and how hard were they to install. Afterwards did you think the purchase was worth it?

Any links to some?

Re: Underwater LED hull lighting??

I've installed the underwater LEDs on my Jet boat and couldn't be happier. I ended up going with a guy named Chris out of Fort Lauderdale. I received several different referrals to him from totally unrelated sources so I knew his company and product was the one to use. Here's his web address:

Also here's the thread to my own search and eventual installation of my UW LEDs.

I have 4 sets of blue LED's and 2 large white LED's. Simple to install and the only issue I have is keeping the marine growth off of them, but my boat stays in the water. If you trailer yours, you won't have that issue.

Ship Shape TV featured some LEDs last weekend. They had some that will clamp to your cavitation plate, trim tabs, etc. so no holes required in hull. Don't recall mfr for them.

A good friend of mine is co-inverter of some under water LEDs called Shadow-Casters. I have some original prototypes and I love them. Make several sizes and they are REALLY bright. It take quite a bit of light to illuminate under water especially if the water isn't super clean. PM me if you have any other questions.

I'm thinking these would be great for Crappie fishin' at night!

The company was Lumishore (here's their link). Their lights are brighter than LED's and they use half the power. They are also roughly 1/3 the size. They use a technology called HICOB (hi-intensity chip on board). Nothing's cheap, but when you break it down to "lumins-per-dollar", the HICOB is roughly only 60% of the LED. I'm sure somewhere on their site is the Ship Shape TV spot.
