120hp Tohatsu 2 stroke outboard 1996
Right as I got back to the boat ramp to pull the boat out of the water my Low engine oil alarm went off. My buddy already had the trailer on the ramp and was waiting for me so i decided to go ahead and trailer the boat. when I got the boat out of the water i realized that the outboard would tilt up but not down. when i got home I put more oil in the engine, attached the Flush muffs, and ran the engine. within a few seconds the motor was again able to tilt down. Is this a safety feature or is there something else wrong and this was just a coincidence? I checked the Tohatsu instruction manual but found nothing about this.
