umm can fix a jet but not my boat lol.30 hp

what is kepping my umm prop section up . i cant get it out . i took 4 bolts out and 1 nut from the front. it wont drip out im after the water pump. i dont have a manual it a 30HP. 72 model.johnson tks for any help.

Sounds like the shift linkage, there should be a little cover with two screws holding it on. That the cover off and remove the two bolts (or screws in some cases). This will disconnect the linkage and it should drop right out. And the "prop section" is called the lower unit or LU on this disscusion board sometimes.<br /><br />If that doesn't do it, there may be a bolt under the trim tab(Looks like a little rudder) you may have to remove.

tks ShafferNY<br />i thought it was something like that the shifter was moving when i tryed to pull the lu down . ok lu i thought was the part directley under the moter . but ok now i know tks wow a 56 wow again. to cool dude i dident know NY had a place to do small boats . so to cool to that to gona give it a try tks again.

I noticed you subject line about jet engines. Thats funny because my brother-in-law has 12 years in the air force as a F-15 Eagle mechanic. He can tell you anything under the sun about them, but won't even try to change the oil on his car.LOL
