UK National Grid buys US gas company

It is really madding on long island our current power companys was formed to keep rates under control ??? after the nuke power plant never went on line <br /><br />

National Grid has been keen to boost its presence in the US, where it currently makes about 40% of its profits. <br />

Does anybody know which countrys we own the power grid in ? this whole ownership thing is looking very one sided <br /><br /><br />tommays

National Grid bought up Our local power company as well.......It Used to be Niagara Mohawk......<br /><br />It's a British Owned Company.....

Foriegn investements have been buying up production around here for several years, In the one case where I have had any dealings It was Canadian Investors,with chinese money. Go figure??

Oh well, now your troubles are just beginning........well, National Grid aren't too bad actually and be thankful that British Energy (the main nuke company in the UK) had to pull out of the US due to serious financial implosion: they were appalling, trust me I know <br /><br />If Powergen or United Utilities of the UK ever start making mutterings about buying any of your power/water/gas facilities my advice is Lobby Congress and don't give up until they bar them from ownership. Powergen in particular keeps on appearing in our consumer watchdog magazines and television programmes. Their customer service is an oxymoron, again, trust me on this, I know
