I have a 1994 Four Winns, 3.0L OMC, Cobra SX. The manual says to lube the ujoint at the start of every season. In order to do that it looks like the drive has to come off.

How often does everyone lube their ujoints? Every year, every 2 years, etc. I only ask because I've already replaced the rear drive oil and don't relish the thought of redraining again to get to the ujoint... or is there another way to get to it?

Re: ujoints

They should be greased annual, we do it in the fall so if there is water in the caps it will come out and not cause rust over winter. You don't have to drain the unit to remove it, just remove the rear shaft for the cyls. and the 6 nuts and washers that hold the unit on

Re: ujoints

The rear mounting shaft for the trim cylinders. Just remove the c-clip from one side and slide it out to disconnect the cylinders from the outdrive.
