Not a fan of UV cleaners in any shape, form or function

Worked as a janitor in a Research laboratory while in high school. They used UV lighting to sterilize the room when not in use.

Long story short, stripped and buffed the floor in a lab one night. For whatever reason, the UV lighting didn’t shut off when I turned the overhead florescent lights on.

Woke up in the middle of the night with my eyes on fire. Emergency room for saline drips and pain killers. Ended up with permanent scaring on both irises.

Air conditioning, dehumidifiers and keeping the air circulating in the area works well around here.

Only reason in my pea brain that there would be moisture in an attic is there isn't enough ventilation, a leak or bath vent is not exhausting outside

As for basement, I'd use a dehumidifier

UV light in the air handler and the wiring breaks down from UV exposure.

I have used in line UV tubes in test tanks to keep crud at bay.

However not sure if it's needed in an attic
