Ok, I have a 115 Mariner 1992. I had the starter rebuilt a month ago because it stayed engaged in the flywheel and fried the crap out of it(tech term). So it seems I am having another starter issue, soleniod is getting juice everything else seems to be doing what it should other than the freaking starter again. Could this just be a freak coinsidence, or just my crappy luck with starters. Could something on my engine fried this? Maybe the guy who rebuilt will give me a discount for coming to see him again so soon. Thanks for all the ideas and help!

Key switch may be sticking in the start position, or the solenoid may be sticking. You should be able to hear if it doesn't disengage.

hope it helps

Please calm down and describe your symptoms without the colorful language.

What have you done to troubleshoot the problem?

Have you done the voltage drop tests in "Outboard won't start" in the Engine FAQs Forum?

HAHAHAA, I honestly hope your joking about the colorful language statement, because I thought it was toned down......but anyway it was the starter. Thanks for the replies trying to resolve my issue.
