I need some recomendations for a good two person tube. The only two things I need to get out of it are 1) it needs to be big enough for one adult and 2) I want it to be able to pull only one tuber if possible.

I bought a small tube from, of all places, Menards but it ended up being too small for my 13 y.o. When I got into it I was hanging off from mid thigh back.

So, what are the recomendations from you guys.

Look to Sportstuff.com they have a huge selection with a video section to see it action. I bought the (chariot warbird II) it fun as heck but big and cumbersome when not in use.

Do you use it as a one person tube? If so does it handle well?

It's not designed for 1 person, I would go for the frequent flyer its a 1 ot 2 manner low profile flat top with lots of handles, check it out on the sportstuff site, it's the one I wish I would have bought now.

If your 13yr old likes to go fast and fall sometimes I wouldn't recommend a 2 man tube. plus when I fall i don't want someone else falling on me. Get a good 1 man Flat top that way you don't have to go fast to dump him lol.

Re: two man tube

We have 2 tubes. We have a Speed Zone 1, that has NEVER even been in the water, and a Speed Zone 2, that gets used alot. We ordered the SZ 1, and bought the SZ 2 at Bass Pro.

BOTH of the tubes are well built, and the rider sits down in the tube. There is a small neck back support, (I don't think they help me at all), and the loop that you hook the rope thrugh is stout.

When we bought the one man tube, we got a tow rope with it for free. BUT, it does NOT have a bungee incorporated in the rope, which "I suggest". (We have a bungee rope that we use, and like it fine).

My 2 boys like to ride together, and my wife likes to ride as well. I can take it or leave it personally. My 15, and my 13 year old have about 70 #'s difference between them.

By itself, the tube seems to handle good, as long as you put the rider to the outside of the tube. (The side that the tube throws itself toward)

I recommend it, myself.

I didn't think of that. If one goes into the drink, usually both go into the drink. I like the looks of the Frequient Flyer so I think I'm going to get that one.

Thanks for the info.

This is another one that I'm looking at. I like how you sit inside the tube not on it. Decisions, decisions.

I can see from the videos on the website how a bungee rope will help with the shock when the rope goes slack. I'll look into getting one of those as well.

Thanks for the reply.

I like the flat pancake type (no donut hole) for towing teens. The relatively thin profile makes them easier to reboard from deep water after they fall off. O'brien Screamer if the kids aren't too big will fit two. The super screamer is the next size up 60" and better for bigger kids.

For adults something sit-in with a backrest is nice. HO Formula 2 is the one we have. kids prefer the O'brien. Adults or those looking for a less wild ride like the HO.

Another great option for multiple riders is pulling two tubes. We almost always pull two.

Visit Overton's (.com).
They have a selection based sorted on the number of people they can hold.

I have the Connelly Skull. I love it. Its great with one kid, two kids, three kids, or four kids. The rear of it is also great because it is easy for the kids to climb back on it after they fall off. Its size makes it return into the wake real quickly after swinging it out. You can't get the thing to turn over. It does not get quite as airborne as my other tubes, but it does shoot the kids up in the air when I double up. You do have to warn the kids about getting too close as you don't want them to bump heads.

What I don't like about it, its rather large and cumbersome.
