Had a couple days this week I just wanted to share. What I'm trying to figure out is, what I would say, if I had to say which day was the better day.

1. Yesterday (Thursday), me & fellow-iboater loulou22 & his co-worker launched about 6am, started out pretty crappy, racing around the lake, picking up 3 or 4 mostly small fish from the usual places. Then around 10:30 a major feeding frenzy turned on - we caught fish (white bass) for the next four & a half hours and left 'em biting. These were good-sized fish, too. Lost count, but I bet we caught 180 or more - I kept 30 for the freezer, & I know we released at least 5 for every one kept. By midday it's usually too hot to stay on the lake, but some occasional cloud cover & a good stiff wind kept us cool (relatively).

2. Saturday, I had my 9 yr old nephew with me - first chance we've had to fish together. He's fished once or twice from the bank but this was his first real fishing trip. We got up at 3:00am so we could make the 100-mile drive & launch at first light. Reason for going so far was, I knew he would want to drive the boat so I picked a large lake far enough from the city so it doesn't get a lot of pleasure boaters. Greasy breakfast at the bait shop diner, you know, the works. The heat chased us off the lake by 10:30; Trey had caught one sand bass, I got skunked (first time in a long time ). But, he did get a lot of quality time in the driver's seat, which I think is a priority for most nine-year-olds. Later on he told me (about 3 times as I recall), "this must be the greatest fishing day ever!"
