Twin throttle alignment

I have twin 4.3 w/ Bravo3 drives in a 2001 28' Pursuit. The throttles do not line up when accelerating, so much that it is annoying trying to sync engines. I tried the engine adjustment but it didn't solve the problem. It forced me to pull into neutral to get one engine to idle speed. Is there an adjustment in the throttle assembly? It is a Mercuiser top mount with trim in the handle, plastic cover pops off and exposes the four screws to remove the unit. I didn't want to split it in half if there was no adjustment in there. Any info would be great. BTW the engines are TBI injection.
Thanks All,

Re: Twin throttle alignment

best advice to give is to disconnect the cables at the motors and measure the throw of the cable ends

i would say disconnect and put both throttle controls at half throttle and then measure

if there is a major difference like say 1/4" or so you can check to be sure the throttle cables are connected to the same hole in the throttle assy, sometimes there are three holes to choose from - maybe one cable got put in a different hole at some point??

Re: Twin throttle alignment

I checked the throw and it appears OK. They cables are in the same holes in the throttle levers. It appears that the two throttle cables aren't aligned the same once the shifter is engaged, but I don't see them move when I drop it into gear. Any other ideas???
Thanks

Re: Twin throttle alignment

If the levers are not staying an equal amount off through the range,(Example at idle they are equal, half throttle a 1/4" off, at full throttle 1/2" off) that isn't something you can adjust out if the cables have equal movement. That means one engine is running better than the other. Are the drives trimmed exactly the same? Don't even think about going by gauge reading alone, unless you verify the gauges.
Do both engines run OK?
