Hi everyone, how 'bout a post from Sunny Spain?
I have a dive RIB - 20ft Ribtec which used to have twin 4-stroke Mercury 50's. They were useless in heavy seas because they didn't have the instant response and power that you need to climb a 10ft wave.
I am changing them for twin 90 Mercury Optimax, but the centres recommended for the 90's are 26" and the original centres are 23.5". Possible?
The boat used to do 25 knots with a clean bottom so I expect 38-40 from the new setup.

If you haven't done this yet give the Evinrude etec a serious look.I'm not sure of the figures but I think you will find them signifigantly lighter. Excellent maintenance intervals, excellent warranty, performance, economy etc.
No question worth a serious look.
