turn signals work...just at the same time

checked all my trailer lights. everything works except the directionals. when you turn on the left signal ...both taillights flash...and vise versa. I cleaned the main ground. What else should I Check

You sure it's the taillights? It's the brake lights that are supposed to flash.

Sounds like a connector (either the vehicle or the trailer harness) has an internal short, or the green & yellow wires have maybe got chafed and are making contact with each other somewhere along the line. easiest way to check the connectors is with a continuity test with your multimeter.

Sure sounds like you are wired wrong. If the wrong thing works when you try it then something is connected wrong somewhere. Make certain that you have a really good ground though.

mine did that last year. It was a bad ground. I ran a seperate ground wire to the lights.

Mine was doing the same thing. The Studs on the light was not getting a good ground. I took the lights off and ground the rust and gunk off the trailer and put them back on and sprayed the studs and fresh grind with a zinc primer, and everything worked normal.

Thanks Guys,

I'll will test further this weekend and let you know how I come out. I have brake lights and running lights so I'll have to get in the water at least once this Holiday weekend.
