I hate boring threads but let's give this topic a shot since it is Thanksgiving. One thing we can be thankful for.

Mine is that I still live in a country with a great deal of freedom from government surpression.

Lucky you -
I live in New Jersey.

I'm thankful that I have a job and can pay my bills, and still have a boat. :)

I give thanks that the jersites have not totally trashed my area and are jiving a bit to the fairylanders and other white tagged yankees :) :) . alas the yankees have killed most our freedoms here. its now against the law for me to target shoot back in my woods, the woods were purchased by my great frandfather in 1885.
but mostly I give thanks to a benevolent god that allows me to do a bit of fishing and a spot of playing while doing a wee bit o working :) . for that I am thankful. my heath is not great but I was not in the obituaries today, means I had a good day :) .

Re: Turkey and the Indians

I am thankful for the usual, my family and friends, my health, ability to have a job I love, the ability to enjoy a few hobbies that interest me, a roof over my head....the usual stuff.

I am also thankful for everything else I have in my life. My enemies for forcing me to look at myself and discover my own faults. I am thankful that I am and have always been poor. I have had just enough to live and a lot of debt to keep afloat. I am thankful for that because it reminds me every day that I am no better than anyone else. I am thankful for the pain and suffering I see everyday in my job, it also serves as a reminder of how lucky I am.

Finally I feel truely blessed to know the hard work and struggle to survive. Also all of the sorrow I have known in my life which is not any more a lot of other people. It has made me stronger, tested my faith, and made me take a good look inside of myself more than once. For this I am truely thankful.

I can go on like everyone and give thanks for good health, loving family, my boat, my car, a good fishing hole, or whatever but that would do a serious unjustice to where I really came from.

This can all be summed up by saying I am thankful period, but just doesn't do justice to the word.
