I just installed a new turbo lube hub on my trailor and it leaks. How do I fix this problem? It is a very slow leak but it does allow water intrusion......Thanks

http://www.iboats.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=22;t=001952

this post is about the pros and cona of oil filled hubs

but i would assume its leaking through the seal ?

i would talk to the tech support who you bought them from or tie down eng

if your axle is dammaged in the seal area you may need a seal sleeve to seal it

Re: Turbo lube hubs

I assume it's leaking around the inner seal, that's what usually happens.

The "fix" is to make darn sure you have a mirror-like finish on that axle shaft where the seal rides before you do the installation. One microscopic little groove or burr and you'll have a leak. These seals are not forgiving at all to imperfections. As mentioned, having a stainless steel sleeve instaled on the shaft so the seal has a good surface to ride on is usually the best solution.
