Need to do a tuneup need to check top dead center on my motor what's another trick that I can use instead of buying the PN 384887

There is generally no need to check top dead center unless the timing went out. The timing generally does not go out unless something pretty major happens and is really not part of doing a tune-up. Are you having a specific problem that you you are concerned about.

Motors today do not need " tune ups " like yesteryear.-----If you are having issues report the results of a compression test.----Starting problems on a " new to you motor " may be a procedure problem.

It's not idling right all the time. I change the spark plugs . But have not started to see if it helped

I would stay away from finding top dead center and anything to do with the timing. What does it do when you have an idling problem

The motor runs fine at high speed but putting it back on trailer it bogs down but will start right back up its like it don't have any power

Do a compression test a spark test and or a cylinder drop test. Does your motor have the ois ignition system.
