I am assuming the tube that is about 12'' long attached to the Steering helm under the console is for oil, But what type and weight??and how much. It appears to have a spring Inside the tube, the tube is a semi clear plastic.
This is on A Tracker 1991 model TX17.

Never assume anything---it makes an ***-U--Me, The plastic tube you see is to keep it clean under the dash when the helm is moved all the way to one side. Then the greasy, piano wire, spring wound, steering cable protrudes all the way out of the helm. The damn grease would get all over if the cable was not covered. Just leave it be. The helm is lubricated for life.

Thank you so much. I understand what you are saying about assuming I normally will not mess with anything unless I am sure of it.
