Trying to reassemble tstat housing and I am stuck HELP!!!!

I am just about ready to fire my new beast and i cannot find the order in which you install the Tstat anywhere. It has been a long time since I took it off and I cannot remember. The tstat does not go against the block... right? With that being said where does the little cork gasket go?

Ayuh,... This'll work awhole lot Better if you state just What motor,+ drive We're talkin' about...

Thanks for the help Don but it did not show my housing. If I put the cork on top of the thermostat is will not seal.

Ayuh,... Going only from a poor memory,...
The T-stat sits in the manifold,...
The Cork gasket is for the Topcover...
The lower gasket needs the brass crush rivets to carry the ground signal for the Temp Sender...

From what everything I have read says the Tstat goes in the top of my housing, not against the block. I cannot find a place for the cork gasket.
