Was out to eat at a local place the other day and fell in love with a painting on the wall. I got a picture of the artist signature but can't seem to locate who he is, or she.

Sorry for the poor quality, it was pretty dark in there.

I asked the waitresses and the owner, but they had no idea who it was.

It's a limited run, this one happened to be 47/450, but I'd love to get my hands on a print. It's landscape, meets steam punk, meets dungeons and dragons. It would look great in my basement. Again sorry for the quality.

If you are not successful finding the artist, you may offer the owner to swap for another comparable painting if he/she is not too attached to it. May be worth a shot.

Sweet! Thanks jeep. Doesn't look like 'yerka' to me, at least it didn't when I was looking at it in the restaurant. My googlefoo was weak with this one.

I may look into the poster, and mount and frame it myself. I have everything here to do it.

I wish I could paint, I have to settle for clicking a shutter button instead.

Thanks again.

All I did was take your picture and upload it to Google image search. Scary that it can identify that with a fuzzy cockeyed picture.

Well, I don't know much about art, but I like that one. I'd say that if you like it, it would be worth trying to score the numbered print. Probably will never be worth a huge amount of dollars, but you'll have it.

It brings a story to mind (we old guys always have stories). First, I'm going to assume most of you have heard of Grant Wood, fairly famous artist although mostly after he was dead. During the mid to late 30s he was teaching art at the University of Iowa School of Art. There was bar in Iowa City called Donnelly's Saloon owned by one Harold Donnelly, a good friend of my dad. One time when they were talking Grant Wood came up somehow and Harold told Dad that one time during the 30s Grant Wood came into the saloon with a painting and wanted to trade it for a case of beer. Harold said, "Tell ya what, why don't you take that painting out and sell it, then bring the money back and buy a case of beer." Harold told my Dad, "I never did know anything about art."
