Trying to id my merc outboard

Hello all.

Trying to id my merc outboard.
The only serial number I can find is on the transom plate 6426927.
No HP rating no model#
I can't find this ser# on any of the suggested sites.
It is a six cyl. Elec trim-tilt. Black max decals (brown). looks like some of the decal trim had a raised vinyl-like texture.

Hi Gary,

I checked at two of the sites that are listed in the sticky...and as far as I can tell; your engine is a 1983 150HP

Thanks chuck, I was thinking that too, but it's hard to be sure.
The boat it came on is a hydra sport X270 1983 model if that helps

For that motor to be a 150HP model, it must be a V6.

Engine serial number: 06426927 Model number 1200623 1983 MERCURY 2.4L MERCURY 200 ELPT.
