I have a older boat and I am not sure what all the ratings are for the boat set out by the maker. The metal plate that has all the info on it is faded and impossible to read. I do have the maker and vin # of the boat, is there any way to find the info I want with that?
I am looking to but a new motor, and it would be helpfull knowing all that info thanks

Is the manufacture still around? if so, you could simply email them and ask

Re: Trying to find Information on an old boat

thanks for that site Ziggy, the only problem is that it won't tell me anything about this particular boat. I have tried searching for the manufacture, but I haven't really been able to find anything on them. Does the DMV have to keep records of all boats that have a hin #, and would they have info on the max size motor, max weight, and weight of the hull for that particular boat. Thanks for all the info

is there a hull ID number on the back of the stern, usually on the right hand side.

Re: Trying to find Information on an old boat

q, some boats are hard to find info on. i have an old trisonic. a 72. if you look on the web. ya'd think it had never been made. i've found nothing on it. my aristocraft is better. but still not much. keep googlein, try different ways of asking the question. as for how much hp. heres a chart that might help ya out.

http://www.fiberglassics.com/

go to boat info at the top where the main headings are. at the bottome of the fly down under boat info is a chart regaurding how much hp.......good luck in yer search......

ps, there was a phone # listed under that mic number on the uscg site. ya won't know if it works till ya try it? i would guess it don't but ya just never know.......
