Trying to figure out what model Merc engine and outdrive I have?

Hello everyone,

Trying to determine what model Merc engine I have and what model Outdrive and ratio... I recently purchased a 1970 21' Slickcraft Cuddy (SS215) with the original Mercruiser 250 inline 6, 165hp engine, and outdrive. Can anybody tell me what model this engine and outdrive would be? and what ratio the outdrive would be.

your going to have to provide engine serials and pictures of the motor and lower unit if you want a correct answer

GM based 165hp motor post some pics., drive might be a MC1 or an earlier model type. Gear ratio should be 1.65-1

Yes Bt Doctur, it is a 250 ci. GM inline 6.. I will get pictures and serial numbers tomorrow and post them after I go to the boat..
