Well does the fuel gauge not work? When it's empty you fill it up and then determine size based on gallons you fill it with. Or if its not empty just fill it and guess work the gas in your tank added to what you pump in that will give you your total capacity or close to it.

Then again easier way would research the brochure on that boat it will give you the specifications such as those you as about.

Thank you for the information/ I don't trust the fuel gauge . when it says half full I can put in 35 gallons of gas. so thanks for the info.
I have been a lot closer to running out of gas then I ever imagined.

Gas gauges on boats are a little fickle, I get pretty anxious when I get below a half tank, I think the most I have ever put in my boat is 50 gallons and that didn't surprise me, I rely on my educated guess more then the gas gauge..

Enjoy the 248, its a great boat, I love mine!

Don't forget to post pics too!

If accesable, the tank should have a tag on top by the fuel sender stating capacity. Sometimes the tag is unreadable, others are ok.

I was gonna guess around 50 gal.

I've noticed that nowadays fuel gauges in general are very optomistic. They'll seem to stay on full, or 3/4 for a long time, but then all of a sudden the bottom falls out.

Anybody else notice this?
