I am trying to buy a 2001 Sea fox with a 200 Hp Honda four stroke outboard and need some help on identifying whether the compression readings are good that the mechanic took when he checked things out. I have already taken the boat out on the water for a test and everything ran fine and checked the service reports and they were in order.

The compression readings were as follows listed below according to cylinder location:

175 psi 175 psi
165 psi 165 psi
180 psi 180 psi

Hey csuba, welcome aboard!! I have moved this over to the Honda Outboard section as you'll get much more specific info here. Also, the Boat Topics section is non-Engine. Good luck!!

The general guideline is compression numbers even...or at least within 10% of each other...so I those numbers are fine.
