pjc,<br />That sounds like a good principle, however with limited slip drive axles it wouldn't work. Once the other tire started spinning, you still wouldn't go anywhere.<br />Sorta like my ATV when in 4X4, I actually only have 4X3. Once one front wheel starts spinning, the other one quits driving.<br />You are correct though that chains on both axles are a good idea. You can't go anywhere if you can't steer.<br /><br />Honestly,<br />I don't see the need for chains where they are unless they are headed for worse conditions. Chains work great on packed snow and/or ice. They don't work so good on pavement, even slushy pavement.<br /><br />AK Chappy
